If it is thinner than the original ground glass, then you have a problem.
You will need a shim of negative thickness when installing the WLF
on the camera body.

Pray tell me how this can be accomplished?  There is no room to install
a shim above the screen, between the screen and the WLF.

All plastic replacement screens I have ever seen are THICKER than
the original glass screens, so you shim 'tween the WLF and the body
to raise the screen so the bottom focusing surface is the same distance
from the lens as before.
