Hey all,
As long as we're on the subject of fountain pens, I'd like to ask a
question: I have a small bunch of fountain pens, running from super cheap
(Lamy) to middling (Rotring), to nice (Montblanc); they're all different
and add a lot of fun to writing. (On topic note: I sign prints with the
cheap Lamy pens, and I find fountain pens second only to felt markers for
this purpose -- no gouging the paper.)
Anyway, one problem I always seem to have is that the ink always seems to
flow on the nib itself, outside the little feed grove. I can never seem to
maintain the nib clean of ink, with the ink keeping to its own little
trench. Needless to say, this makes these pens sort of messy. Is there
any trick to this? Or is this more a problem caused by my use of inferior
equipment?
Thanks,
- -frank
