My MountBlanc has been sitting around for 5-6 years, from the time when I
had to make a good impression on clients (Now I work in a home
office). All this posting caused me to take it out, disassemble it, wash
it, and it cleaned up just fine. Just as a matter of course I used their
ink, both in a bottle and in those little cartridges you can plug in in
place of the plunger-filler assembly.
The only problem is that the nib was never very smooth, and that's not good
for a $300 item. Just too lazy at the time to take it in. At the time I
bought it the company would refurbish the pen for nothing, but those days
are over. The local dealers won't send them in any more.
Maybe it will smooth out if I use it more.
