  I completely forgot about these! I can see the tone arm in
my mind now. They certainly did predate the commercialized
single groove stereo recordings, though not the experimental
ones.
  There were also attempts to broadcast stereo before the
multiplex system by using two FM stations (sort of worked)
or an FM and AM station (awfull).
  The first experimental single groove stereo recordings
were made independantly in the US and in England in the
1930's as I've described in some earlier off topic post.
