My substitute for a cable release is the selftimer and the lenscap. For
timed exposure: keep the lenscap on, set shutter on B (or green), open
shutter and keep it open with the release lock. Use the lenscap as shutter
like in the early days of photography.
But DON'T FORGET TO UNLOCK THE SHUTTER RELEASE before cranking, or the
camera will definately get jammed.
