Are you sure it is a Zeiss-Opton 2.8 Tessar, and not the Jena Tessar? If
the former, then that is interesting because it is some of the Jena
Tessars that are touted as being soft, yet I have a Zeiss-Opton Tessar
that is quite soft - the later and supposed replacement for the Jena Tessar.
