 If you are comfortable opening the front the side is no worse. Be careful
of the winding crank mechanism, its necessary to push out the pin which
holds it on and remove it to get the side off. Replace the crank when the
side is off. 
  The adjustment is visible. Its an eccentric with a screw in the center to
lock it. Its very helpful to have drawings or photographs of the inside. 
  Unless something is very worn you should be able to adjust it. 
  The lens board has a little slop on its screws. If its not fastened in
the right position it can also cause the problem.
