With this sort of test the focus becomes very critical. The viewing lens
must exactly track the taking lens, and using a high power loupe to
improve focus can have a large effect.

millimeters of focusing scale error can drop resolution levels by 40-50%
with high resolution films. The solution is to shoot a series of shots
at different focus points, and pick the highest resolution ones (or use
aerial resolution techniques..) for comparison, and even that is problematic
