Re: [Rollei] shoot me down

I suppose we're talking about the small all-mechanical Rolleis.

Not the SLR's or never (and unknown to me) Rolleis.

It's hard to say about those Rollei 35's.

I havent got any og the new fancy ones, but many of the older models.
Many of these are very alike in usage and apperance.

The best version I have is a Rollei 35 S Silver.
This one has a 2,8/40mm.

I prefer the 2,8 lenses myself, as I use these cameras merely
for snapshots.

I have a Rollei 35 TE which is the one I find to be the fastest in use.
This is due to lightmetering can be read in the finder by LED indicators.
The drawback of this camera is a 3,5/40 lens.

All the other Rollei 35's I have, has the lightmeter display on top of the
camera.
I find this both anoying and slow to use, as I haven't found a good rythm in
finding the picture, reading the meter and then taking the picture.

Whith the LEDs on the 35 TE I can find the picture and adjust speed etc while I
still have the picture in the finder.

So, for my usage I'd say a Rollei 35 SE (2,8/40mm, Sonnar) is the ideal camera.

This is said without considering the new Rollei 35's (like the classic,
marine etc.)

Hope this helps.
The reason for me not considering the new Rollei 35's is that I exclusively buy
secondhand cameras from privates, and these are hard to find in the
scandinavian market.
The older ones appear rather rapidly, and often at great prices.
