Emmanual, as you said, there are only three ways to mount it and only one of
them is correct. So if the image is shifted to one side and up then it is
mounted wrongly. You can see this quite easily when you're mounting it since
the image is rotating with it.

Even without the paint, it should be possible to locate it quite easily
since it's more than just a drop of paint.
