The meters on these cameras are quite accurate. Just remember that the lens
is a wide angle. With all wide angle lenses, the meter covers a big area,
equivalent roughly to the lens coverage. This means when you hold the
camera horizontally there will be a HUGE piece of sky that will be metered,
resulting in over-exposure. Just tilt down the camera a bit to reduce the
amount of sky, or meter off of your hand.
