First, let's put this myth to bed for all time:  THERE IS NO SUCH LENS AS
AN "OPTON-TESSAR".  This is simply a Zeiss-Opton Tessar, Zeiss-Opton being
the brand-name used by the Oberkochen works from 1947 when lens production
commenced until the putative date of 1 OCT 54, when the terminology changed
to "Carl Zeiss" after the initial spate of litigation between the two Zeiss
entities.  "Opton" is an abbreviation for "OPTisches werke OberkocheN".
(Oberkochen is the site of the present Carl Zeiss works;  it was created
after World War II by Zeiss folks who had left the original Jena works,
soon to be nationalized by the Soviets.)

Second, the 2.8/8cm Tessar used in the Super Ikontas were NOT identical to
the 2.8/8cm Tessars in the Rolleiflex 2.8A -- the Super Ikonta lens is a
front-cell focusing lens, while the 2.8A optic is a unit-focusing lens,
theoretically capable of better performance than a front-cell focusing lens.
