First, my SL35E also has a metal back.
Second, I have never heard that the electronic shutters in the 2000 and
3003 came from Copal. To the contrary, they are Rollei redesigns of the
shutters Zeiss Ikon had developed for their SL2000F, the intended successor
to the Contarex. (Rollei hates to admit this, but they picked up the 2000
design when Zeiss Ikon went west.) Certainly, there is no mention in
Prochnow that Copal made these shutters, and that for the 3003 is
specifically stated to be a Rollei shutter.
The 3003 shutter IS tremendously more reliable than the 2000F shutter.
However, I know folks who have shot for almost twenty years with a 2000F
without a quibble or problem.
