(:D) Yeah, right... remember those Rolleinar lenses that MAMIYA made for
Rollei's 35mm SLRs? Remember when you asked me to drop that topic last year
after Bob Salomon wouldn't confirm that Mamiya produced some of the Rolleinars
for Rollei? Maybe he was genuinely unaware of that... Now he wants me to
believe that "Moose won't stand for just any filter. They want their pictures
taken with only the finest filters: Heliopan." (July 98 Shutterbug, page 79).
Let me take this opportunity to explain that I am not affiliated with
Mamiya. I selected this screen name with my AOL account and after several
years of posting on various forums I'm reluctant to give it up. In my opinion,
Mamiya makes affordable, reliable and decent equipment. Mamiya does not pay me
to say that.
I think it's funny when people seek the ultimate in a sharp lens but when
they get it they find they have to slap a # 3 Softar in front of it in order
to sell any portraits (a hyperbole, intended to be humorous).
I don't think it's funny when a spokesperson for a company tries to give
us the mushroom treatment.*
