Marc,

I always thought that Smakula ended up at MIT, not Harvard. I believe that I
met him there in early 1970 while interviewing for graduate work. (I went
west, however, to get away from the East.) Also, I cannot imagine Cambridge,
MA as one of the "bases of nuclear-bomb program." 

Anyway, Zeiss coatings on my 3.5F and SL66 lenses are superlative, but not T*.
